My husband did after a traumatic brain injury. I put up with it for a month before I told him he needed to discuss it with his therapist or I was leaving. In sickness and in health is a really, really hard vow. Thankfully he went to therapy, changed his medications, and returned a new and better man.
I recently completed chemo and getting through the cancer wasn't difficult for my relationship, but I have lingering chemo brain. I basically forget things like an 80 year old with Alzheimers would. DH will say that I just don't care, I'm stupid, I'm delusional, etc and I have to remind him that I just honestly cannot remember. He's even come with me to see a neurologist and the oncologist to confirm that this is what's happening to me and not something more serious (first thought I had was it was a brain tumor and the cancer had spread and they missed it). I understand that it's frustrating for him, but it's frustrating for me too, especially since I feel like I get attacked every day for something out of my control. If things don't return to normal I believe I'll be divorced in the next year.
