At this point, I really wouldn't be surprised if he were suicidal. He would never talk to anyone professionally but I just wondered if anyone else knew how to deal with parents depression.

My mother actually committed suicide when I was 21. She was always depressed and exhibited a lot of the same problems. I think that's why I coddle my father. But its starting to be at my expense now. Not sure what to do anymore.[/quote]
