[/quote] If you start with the understanding that the bar/bat mitzvah is not a requirement but simply a recognition that the teen is now old enough to be considered an adult within the context of Judaism, I'm not sure how any ceremony would not be legit. Even if you don't have a ceremony at all, you are still considered a Jewish adult.[/quote]
