2. We have 2 dogs that we can't bring with us to MIL's house, where we would stay. Last weekend, she paid to have them boarded, about $250.

Option 1: All 3 of us go down. We leave the dogs at SIL's house about 10 min from MIL's house and drop by to walk/feed them twice while in Richmond. She has a fenced yard and dog door, so they would be alone but not in crates.

Option 2: I stay at home with the dogs while DH takes DD down to family. If I do this, MIL will probably be upset, and both SIL's as well I think. They would probably assume I don't want to see them. Not true.

So... what should I do?
