I am not a BH parent, but "acting principal" generally means somebody who is in his/her first year as a principal (was probably an AP for several years somewhere else), and is not guaranteed the job beyond this school year.  He will interview, along with other candidates, for the permanent position closer to the end of the year.  As a parent, you will be part of that process.

As an acting principal, he will have a principal trainer and support team to guide him, and will have periodic evaluations (by the community superintendent, I think?) during the year.  Usually they don't put someone in as acting unless they're confident he or she will be a good fit for the permanent job, but it's not a done deal.[/quote]

Well this is sort of helpful but kinda confusing. The guy who is in the "acting principal" role has according to his linkedin page been a principal for Moco for the past 20 years....[/quote]
