I would say any kind of work related setting including:   volunteer work, unpaid internship, sports ref as noted, CIT jobs at day or overnight camps,  sitting (children, animals or house) or yard work that one has done for others.  I would also note program of study in high school highlighting any classes which might give one a skill already or list skills such as:  computer skills covered in courses, language skills etc.  Other categories which might apply for some might include certifications (CPR, First Aide, Swimming Instructor, Life Guard, EMT etc.) or special interests which might relate to the job area one is looking for.

A first resume will be short, so I would also list on the same page a couple of references from any of the above early volunteer, internship or neighborhood paid informal jobs with a name, phone number and email.  Be sure to ask the reference if this is OK and what you are looking for in terms of a job.  If you are an older teen, I would then supply the reference with your resume.

Then do not forget to guide them on how to dress for the interview - not over, but certainly not under either.  You might even role play a bit some of the questions they are likely to be asked.   Also, make sure they arrive early etc.
