I'd still recommend not throwing more than 18 months at the relationship without having a pretty solid understanding of where it is going, because your options do start to get lower the older you get (more good guys are taken, not that you aren't as much of a catch but it's just math), but I think it's fine if you like him and aren't feeling any pressure about kids.
