Any others?[/quote] I agree, OP, no need for PP to be snarky. We don't have one tradition but do try to do something different each year, nothing big. This year, DD finishes middle school and moves on to high school. A lot of her close friends are going to other high schools. So we're going to take one of those friends out to lunch and a movie after school on the last day -- they dismiss school early, too, so there's lots of time for a nice outing. I'd say, if your child has a friend who is going to another school (or if your child is younger, a friend who will be away a lot of the summer, for instance) offer to take your child and that friend to do something the afternoon that school is dismissed.
