I don't think that your version of events is accurate, PP.

They did fill the 6th grade.  Unfortunately, many of the families who had committed to coming by May 1 subsequently changed their minds, and many of those did not notify the school until the fall.  Some kids just didn't show up for the first day of school.  Other kids went to school for a couple of weeks while waiting to hear from their preferred schools. By the time BASIS started calling families on the wait list to fill available spots, those families had already committed to other schools and did not want to switch.

All schools have kids who don't show or commit then change.

Weak demand is when you have a long waitlist but families choose other schools rather than grabbing a spot regardless of when the sport opens. [/quote]
