I really got the sense that the teachers were very dedicated to pushing all children to reach their full potential, including providing just as many enrichment opportunities for the A student as remedial or re-teaching opportunities for underperforming students.  Again, I'm talking about the overall experience; out of the nearly two dozen White Oak teachers DC had, off the top of my head, I can only recall one teacher who was a complete dud but 8 teachers who were amazing.
