No, for some schools like, for example, Aiton PK3, there are 2 kids on the wait list, yet 19 seats listed as not matched in round 1.  http://dcps.dc.gov/DCPS/Learn+About+Schools/Lottery+and+Admissions:+Apply+to+Our+Schools  So isn't the relevant question how many seats are available, rather than the length of the wait list?[/quote]

If you don't like the data DCPS released then complain to them not me. If you question my logic in thinking that the number of people on the waitlist is the relevant measure then by all means please also take that up with DCPS since, and I quote, [i]"Round 1 results of the My School DC lottery were released on Friday, March 27. If you did not recieve a match in Round 1, you are eligible to submit an application in Round 2 (deadline May 8). To identify schools with waitlists of manageable lengths, select a grade and maximum length below."[/i]
