Thing is for our kids, in order for them to grow up and reach their highest potential, which for my son will be college if he chooses and the ability to be a productive member of society living somewhere other than under my roof, we have to work hard and early.  The only thing that really matters is getting your kid to that point, not what people think along the way - unless, of course, those people can have a negative impact on your child reaching his potential.
