We are trying to make our choice for our older DC, and want to make sure we understand the way sibling preference works (thinking ahead to when DC#2) is ready for K. If DC#1 is enrolled in a school, how much will that affect the chances for DC#2? Thanks
Siblings get first dibs on available spots. So if there are enough spots for all the siblings, they all get in before any non-siblings get in. If there are not enough spots for all the siblings, siblings will be the first spots on the waitlist.
That is true for charters. For regular DPCS schools, inbound students with siblings have priority followed by inbound students, followed by OOB with sibling then OOB.
