What time do your elementary kids have sports practice? My kindergartener is playing soccer this spring and the coach has scheduled practice times for 5pm. Getting my kid there is going to be next to impossible with my commute and I can't leave early twice a week for soccer practice. There's no one close that he can carpool with. Am I out of line responding to the coach asking to push practice back to 5:30? These kids are U6 and practice is an hour.
You're not out of line, depending on how you ask/frame it. As a former coach, I can say that field availability is probably limited and may be the main driver for the practice times. But if you approach the coach and explain your situation and ask about alternatives, I don't see a problem with it. If the practice times are set in stone, you may want to explore switching teams. Not framing it in a bad way but its U6 soccer shouldn't be high level and your kid deserves to get the practice time.
Ruin everyone else's plans because you can't make the practice? Just ask to be moved to a team with a later practice....
You're making a huge leap.
