KIPP DC discriminate special education kids here is why... Why KIPP requires IEP or 504 plan? During open enrollment application process to prospective families???? http://www.livebinders.com/media/get/MTA3MDkyMDM=
Correction: A staff member(s) at A KIPP DC campus gave incorrect answers to questions regarding the enrollment process. Your title is quite the exaggeration. At my child's school, nearly a quarter of the student body has a disability and the school provides a full continuum of effective services. Based on what I've experienced, I have no doubt that KIPP DC will continue to invest in ALL students, especially those with special needs.
How do you know that a quarter of the school has a disability? Based on the stats that the school puts out; highly unlikely this is true to have a 50% population of Special Education students, that would be extremely unusual in any school. Not putting down KIPP but your data is off.
Wow. I hope you're not a product of DCPS. A quarter is 25%.
