Trigger Shot just makes sure u do ovulate. on my first IUI the day I came in they said uh ah u r having LH surge (mean your egg will drop within 24-48 hrs) so made me take a shot that evening and come in next day for IUI so egg would not be dead if they wait too long. Trigger shot works different for everybody but majority yes PP I agree with you 36-40 hrs. but your blood will tell better (like in my first cycle there was no need for trigger shot cuz LH level was proving I am ovulating. ) so it also depends on your LH level.
