The gap is not the reason for braces -- their are other issues. The question is whether not correcting the gap/having the frenectomy is going to mess up what the braces would fix. PLUS, my DC likes the gap is really not wanting to lose it.[/quote] Any gap that's left after braces can easily shift. If you're going to the trouble of braces get rid of the gap. If you leave the gap, it will allow the teeth to shit. Sort of like books on a bookshelf can shift if they aren't packed tightly enough in. [/quote]
