IMO, there will be a drop across the board, but largely due to the change in testing format.  For DCPS students it may not be as bad because DCPS rolled out CCSS several years ago and all the unit assessments given are online so students should be more comfortable with the testing format. Many of the questions are worded in a similar fashion as those on PARCC.  Another consideration is the type of questions.  Students can no longer simply eliminate two wrong answers and guess between the other two.  Some questions have several correct answers.  Some questions require the student to tell why the answer is correct.

PARCC sample questions are available online for any parent who wants to get an idea of whats on the test and the format.
