I don't ordinarily consider having one person waiting in line 'cutting in'; I think of cutting in as meaning just showing up with nobody waiting in line. But yes, having one person hold for a huge group which either leaves the rest waiting substantially longer or unable to get in, that's rude. The "request/acknowledgement" bit is just asking forgiveness....it doesn't change the rude much.[/quote]
