Has anyone heard anything about possible boundary changes for McLean HS? These would not occur for at least another two years, correct?
It's discussed in the "options" section of the latest CIP. There is some concern that, if people keep moving to the Tysons area and closer to DC, and steering away from Great Falls, McLean will end up overcrowded and Langley will be under-enrolled. If that happens, FCPS has suggested it might move the kids at Colvin Run and/or Spring Hill who attend Longfellow/McLean to Cooper/Langley. However, they want to monitor the enrollments, and complete the ongoing and scheduled renovations at Langley and Cooper first. They have also suggested in the CIP that they would build an addition at McLean, which can be done without a rezoning application, before they'd move any McLean students to Langley. Bottom line is that nothing will change over the next two years, and beyond that it really depends on how accurate their projections turn out to be.
