We are paying for college, that is gift enough.  He needs a computer, sheets, comforter, towels, shower bucket........... why not give it to him as presents.  We routinely give gift certificates to The Container Store to nieces and nephews. [/quote]

He will be picking the stuff, if that is what you mean- including his computer. I just don't think any HS graduate needs a trip or other fancy present for graduating HS- unless that is the end.  Then I can see celebrating it more.  [/quote]

Sort of agree. We didn't do much for graduation, in fact for DC 2 we did nothing. Not sure why as we pay for everything, dcs both have cars, we are one of the ones funding spring break, etc. Maybe because a $250,000 college education seemed like enough?[/quote]
