We used the frozen egg route and got a BFP on our first try and have 2 frozen embryos. So we got lucky, but also spent more than we would have just paying for one round. But I know of 2 women who have done at least 2 rounds (with fresh eggs) and several FET in between. For them, the Shared Risk is totally worth it! For us, it was great peace of mind to know we had more than one shot at this.

My one piece of advice is when picking a donor, choose one who has proven to be successful at not just producing lots of eggs but also implantation. Our donor has had children, so we knew her eggs will implant and grow. One of my friends picked and relatively new donor. She produces lots and lots of eggs, but so far none of them have implanted in her or the other women who have picked her.

Also, once you have found the donor you want, don't wait a day or two to think about it. Many people I know have lost good donors when they hesitated and had to wait for another good fit to come around. [/quote]
