I think heartless is a wee bit dramatic.

Yes we are lucky - that is kind of the whole point of a lottery.

I am very clear that my post is coming from a place of frustration in response to the constant bashing of schools not letting folks off wait lists - what I stated in my post were facts as to why schools regulate influx. Some things we have to deal with and move on.

You forgot one, er two- Bitchy and Nasty! To all other posters, please know LAMB parents are not callous like this icky poster. We're a grateful bunch who knows that all DC kids deserve a stellar education. Our families got lucky and we know it. We understand that frustration with families that don't have that same dumb luck. Just know we know you're children are as valuable as ours and we pray for the day when more great options are out there for all of our kids![/quote]
