I will add that both of our nannies (current and prior) have also mentioned feeling the presence of a spirit near the children. One specifically said that she thought the spirit was protecting our older child.

And, tonight, when I was putting our 2 and 4 year old to bed the 2 year old said, "the man is back." While looking at the wall in their room. I said, "where's the man?"  She pointed at the wall and said, "right there."  My four year old said, "there's no one there."  My FIL is also deceased, so maybe that was him? First time she has ever said anything.
