At my in-laws for the long weekend. They know our 2.5 year old always naps from 12:30-4/5pm. They live less than an hour away and we see them frequently. DH and I have always felt lucky and grateful that DS is an amazing sleeper. In-laws served Thanksgiving dinner at 2pm. (We had asked if they could start at 6pm so we could all eat together, but FIL INSISTED he needed to eat at 2). MIL kept complaining that DS slept through the meal. In-laws hosted another family get together today at 1pm. DS slept through most of that, but I went to wake him up at 4 so he could spend a little time with the few relatives visiting from out of town. They wanted to go out to lunch tomorrow at noon and got upset when DH asked if we could eat at 11:30 so DS could be in bed by 1. FIL's response was to say that he and MIL think something is very wrong with DS. They are insisting we see a doctor because they think he sleeps too much. Are DH parents right? Can a toddler sleep too much? Am I ignoring a problem? He also sleeps 12-12.5 hours at night. DS is happy and always on the move when he is awake. It seems like a crazy complaint to me. In-laws are being extremely pushy about it and it's driving both of us nuts!
