I'm seeing Ebola in all threads now. Over 40- what moisturizer do you use for Ebola? Live mouse in the closet- does it have Ebola? Did your partner come with you to all your doctor visits for Ebola or just one? Saoirse, Naimh or Ebola? Survey- did you wear a skirt or dress to work today, and if so did you catch Ebola?
Hilarious. This is why I feel confident saying you will not get Ebola: 1. It is not easily spread. Body fluids, which in this country we mess with a lot less than in Africa, where families members are caring for their very sick relatives. For all the speculation about how it could become airborne -- head for the hills! -- it hasn't. If anything they believe this strain is not as virulent as others. 2. People are only contagious when they are symptomatic. This is huge. It means that unlike HIV, which people spread for years before they got sick, there are clear outward signs that someone is contagious. 3. We can very easily contain the spread in this country. Yes, there may be more cases with people exposed to this one man, but it won't go beyond that level because they've identified those people BEFORE they showed symptoms and therefore became contagious. 4. We have better health care in this country. The person who has Ebola is being treated in the hospital and not at home by family members. Yes, he was out in the community while sick but I don't think that will happen again. Seriously, this is a great example of how people get worked up over the most remote possibilities and not at all at more likely threats. A lot of people die from the flu every year, a lot.
I think you are being extremely arrogant and short sighted.
