They did a great job with the Black Jack whipping scene, so I think they'll do well with the rape scene. We already got the sadistic, pain+adoration flavor of Jack's attraction to Jamie when Jack was recounting to Claire his feelings of "creating a masterpiece" together with Jamie during the whipping. It seems they did it that way on purpose to foretell what's coming at the prison and I think they will mimic the tone of that scene. I think it will be kind of like that - We won't see the whole thing, we will get snippets of it as Jamie recounts the horror of being tortured and made love to at the same time.[/quote]

Yeah, the spanking scene is going to be hard to pull off for a modern audience. I wonder if they will write it so that Jamie is pretty much forced by the other men to punish her. Like, for example, if Dougal tells him that he'll do it himself (or even starts to do it himself) if Jamie doesn't.

It was an absolutely brilliant stroke to have Jack Randall tell Claire himself about Jamie's flogging. Much better than a 3rd person account, as in the book. Tobias Menzies is fabulous, BTW.[/quote]
