I thought the teacher's 30-minute presentation and Q&A session was worthwhile, but other than that there wasn't anything else to check out. We did go to the computer class and music classes (once we found them), but those teachers really had nothing prepared and were just there to answer questions. We stayed almost an hour, which is probably 20 minutes more than we needed to. Since we wanted to get our money's worth from the babysitter, we went out and had dessert and a drink.

So now we have back to school night again next week and I'm seriously thinking about not going and trying to catch up with the teacher afterwards by e-mail. We do have parent-teacher conferences coming up in early Oct., which for me is more worthwhile in getting to talk one-on-one with the teacher about DS. From all indications, this year's event will be as unstructured as last year's.

Just wondering if anyone else shares my sentiments about back to school night.
