How is it clear they don't want your business.  You show up at 6 pm on a Saturday night and expected to be seated in what 10 minutes.  Typical attitude around here that you are better than everyone else and don't need to wait with the common folk.  Why don't you hire someone to get in line at 4 pm and save your spot then you can just roll in when your table is ready.

Never said I expected to be seated in 10 minutes, but a 2- 4 hour wait is ridiculous.  Refusing to take reservations makes it impossible (or at the very least impractical) for those of us who have to arrange for babysitters and the like for a night out.  You deride me for refusing to wait with the "common folk".  I would argue that having the luxury to wait 2- 4 hours to be seated for a meal is anything but "common" but is in itself rather elitist- one must be living a life of leisure to dedicate that kind of time to dinner!

I understand that there are many other restaurants that do not take reservations, but also acknowkledge that many outstanding restaurants do (including NOMA, rated as the best restaurant in world)  Having a no reservations policy doesn't make a restauarant bad, but it sure doesn't make it great either.  I'm sure the food at Rose's is wonderful, and made all the better by the anticipation built over a 4 hour wait. [/quote]
