[quote=Anonymous][quote=Anonymous]I'm famaliar and connected in various ways to all 3 schools. They are all quite different from one another and are different offerings, so to speak. STA is the best academically. It's in the city and more international then the other 2. In some ways its traditions hark back to the British boarding schools of years ago. It's all-boys but with very close ties with NCS. Landon is very surburban and its ties with Holton are not nearly as strong as STA's with NCS. Landon is a good school and strong in sports and the performing arts. Landon has had a bumpy last 10 years, but they have the institutional strength to weather the storm. They will and the school will no doubt improve in the next 5 years or so. Prep is another good school, not quite as strong academically as Landon as they are bigger and draw from a more narrow pool of applicants than the other 2. Although it is a wealthier and more suburban school than Gonzaga, it is closer institutionally with Gonzaga than either Landon or NCS, due to its status as a Jesuit school and the top Catholic school in the area. Prep has a strong tradition, is the oldest of the three by far, and has strong historical ties with both Georgetown U. and of course, the Society of Jesus. All 3 are good schools, but they are so different that you should first look within yourself to determine your family identity and it's path into the future before you make a selection, assuming your boy has the academic talent to be accepted at all 3 schools.
