When I moved in, I had half a kitchen with white cabinets and very busy brown granite. The other half of the kitchen was completely empty. I couldn't bring myself to tear out perfectly good granite, and everything else I tried to pair with it didn't work, especially with brown wood floors. So I did a white tile backsplash, chocolate brown walls, and built an island with the lagoon countertops. The busy brown granite now looks like it belongs. I like all white kitchens (cabinets, counters, subway backsplash). When you get tired of one look, all you have to do is get a can of paint and go from dark to light, spring to fall, etc. [/quote]
