So....you just pass the trucks. NBD. I take back roads similar to the other PP's route, but can't remember all of the specific roads.

Avalon is further south which is different. There are only so many passing areas and also filled with lights/turns. I worked at Salem Memorial years ago and lived in Margate every summer.  I would always try both. Was faster to fly down 296 and AC expressway - every single time.  Not sure how different Avalon/Wildwood would be. The only way I would recommend a newbie to take the back roads for AC/Margate/OC is if there is a massive accident/back-up.[/quote]
