It's just a melodramatic story, played a little woodenly. But, while I usually dislike Heather Graham, she's great in these movies! Unfortunately her part was fairly small in this one. It's been so many long years since I've read VC Andrews, but even as a teenager I thought the books were pretty tawdry (fun, but so over the top).
