I worked as a server for a month before I got tired of being blamed for the fact that the kitchen or bartender was slow, the fact that the hostess would sit too many people at my table all at once so I'd be running around trying to get everything done and then get yelled at by the manager for not checking in with my table within 60 seconds of being sat down, etc. DH and I go out to eat a lot more than we probably should and I can probably count on one hand the amount of times we've had bad service and the server was completely to blame.
