I would only post reviews on a website like that if I was guaranteed the site wouldn't be charging anyone to access my reviews OR charging companies to advertise. Why should I provide my valuable content for free for someone to profit of? I don't want anyone making money off my child's special needs' experiences.
Ummm. This forum is filled with ads. Are they profiting from your "valuable content for free"? I am a parent and a teacher and spend tons of money on Super Duper Publications products or constantly buy books from Amazon on ADHD (and a zillion other topics) and never do I think "Gee, are these people profiting from my students with special needs?" Common sense is they are but that does not mean it is still not a good thing to buy the product or write the review. By doing so you are keeping a good product on the market that helps people and by writing reviews you are informing other parents or educators, such as myself, what are the pros and cons of an item. It just seems like a silly argument. Sorry about the tone, but my husband owns his own business and sometimes I don't think people realize that to put a good product on the market or even run a charity, it takes money and people have to be paid. It would be wonderful if everything was for free, even things that helped our special needs children, but they are not.
