My kid is selected for AAP. I am totally new to this. I am just wondering what kind of homework load we can expect from next year (3rd grade). Will it be typical 30 min per day? Is there anything you normally do to keep your kids engaged and feed their knowledge? In addition to taking them to library and museums, what else do you do? Do you keep them in any extra classes outside of school like Kumon etc? Is there anything else we need to do keep the kid occupied, not bored? Please note that I am asking the above in addition to normal play time/game time/TV time given to kids. It's not like he won't be having fun.
Please don't take me wrong. There is nothing different in APP kids. I 've one in 4th grade & the other will be in 3rd grade AAP this fall... Just let them be kids. All kids (AAP or not) say "I'm bored" from time-to-time. Each one is different. You try to available to them whenever they need you and for whatever time they need you...
OP here. Thanks for your valuable input.
