He doesn't like the way you kiss, or he's been told he's a bad french kisser and is embarrassed to do it. I dated a guy who was a terrible french kisser. A mix of eating my face and shoving his tongue down my throat. Once we'd been dating for awhile I finally came clean, but at the beginning I mostly didn't french kiss him.
