Apparently the finish on most shutters is not as moisture impervious as that used on vanities, etc. and the combination of strong sunlight (which we have with that window) and moisture could cause fading and some deterioration over time. He sounded like he knew what he was talking about... In addition to appearance, I'm looking for longevity and low maintenance as we remodel.[/quote]
