With Round One of the lottery behind us, we know that many folks are now in decision-making mode, whether they got into a school or are figuring out their waitlist options. If you received a spot in the lottery, are in-bounds with a rising older student with rights to attend, or just still interested in learning more about Powell, please consider joining us for these opportunities before the May 1 enrollment deadline: - Tuesday Tours, 9:30 and 10:30 am: join us for regular Tuesday tours where you can meet school leadership and see classes in action. (Note, Powell will be closed for Spring Break on Tuesday April 15th) - Thursday April 10th, 4:00 pm: Powell will have its annual Health Fair that afternoon, and staff will be on hand to help with enrollment. - Saturday April 12th, 10 am – 11 am: Join us for a meet and greet with Principal Docal, teachers, and parents. This would be a great time to learn more about our approach to bilingual education, since we know many parents are trying learn about the different offerings at schools across the city. Kids are welcome, though I’m not sure right now if we’ll have separate activities for them or if they’ll just be hanging with the group. We wish we could accommodate all of the interest in attending Powell and are grateful for your support. Hope to see you at one of these upcoming opportunities! I’ll put in another plug for the DME boundary/feeder pattern working group meeting at Coolidge High School this Tuesday, April 8th at 6:30 pm. It’s important for us all to understand and inform how future possible changes will impact the boundaries in our growing neighborhoods!
