I am an adoptive mother of older child adoptees whose alcoholic teenage birth mom was almost as neglectful as Relisha's.  I read today's paper and all I could think was "There but for the grace of God goes one of my children in their early childhood."

There should be extensive wrap-around services at DC's homeless shelter and there should be much quicker removal of children from incompetent parents who are nothing but poorly parented children themselves.[/quote]
