How was it stark?[/quote] The word I usually think of when I first think of that movie is "chilly." It follows prostitutes through their day. The camera has a lot of steady, non-moving shots. The lighting is sort of white and cold. There isn't a lot of romanticism or fun or anything in it. These are women who are working a difficult, customer service job. It's very dispassionate about the women and about the johns. It's sort of like watching someone do telephone customer service all day. [/quote]
