I go to Sport and Health. They have childcare but I don't use so can't give advice there. It's pricey. Definitely. But I pay it because it's a gym that I find myself going to nearly every single day. Not only because of the location to my house, but also because it's not crowded and has a wide selection of machines. And it's not a meat market. People of all ages and people are just doing their own thing. Friendly people. And I like that it's right next to the running trail so sometimes I combine a gym workout with an outside run. Before this, I was a member of the Del Ray YMCA. It was nice, but during peak times, good luck at getting a machine. I haven't been into it since so I don't know if anything has changed. I really think that with all of the growth in Potomac Yard, they should be thinking about expanding. The best value will probably be LA Fitness north of Potomac Yard. But it was JUST far enough away that I knew I wouldn't go as often. The other options are Snap Fitness on King St, but it's small and no childcare -- but cheap. And there is Jungle's Gym by the USPTO which I know nothing about other than it's large and never crowded. But again, just inconvenient enough for me that I know I wouldn't go as much.
