I think upbringing and religion and personality and luck also has a lot to do with whether or not one gets married.  My single friends who are not dating seemed to have given up on dating by their late 40's.  They just dated less and less and less and are sort of "self-contained" independent types who don't seem to want to get involved in relationships.  This sort of makes me sad for them but there are many people who for whatever reason are singletons and if they are happy, good for them.  It is the ones who are unhappy that make me sad.[/quote]
