I found some "calm" homeopathic pills in the pharmacy by Hyland's inc. I haven't tried them yet, says it helps with nerve tension & sleeplessness . No habit forming- has passifloria, avena sati a, humulus luplulus, and chamomlla-
I have seen those to and they could work for a kid or an adult by way of having a psychosomatic effect as could using candies like mints or tic tacs. For example, some children complain of physical stomach or other pains that are linked to anxiety. It's believed that peppermint helps relieve stomach upset as well as headaches, etc. Tell the child if they feel particularly upset, to suck on an Altoid and it will help. It won't really do anything but the child doesn't really know that and just the belief that it will help and they have done something proactive might be enough to dial back their anxiety a bit.
