Do you all think there's any chance of a full day Kindergarten coming to Loudoun county any time soon? Both DH and I work and would like to avoid daycare as much as possible. Where I'm from, public Pre-K was the norm, so I'm shocked there's not even full day Kindergarten standard here.
It's not on the drawing board right now, sorry. From the Loudoun school's web site: "Do you have full-day kindergarten? With the exception of 6 classrooms, all kindergarten sessions are 3 hours in length. The 6 full-day classrooms are for students who are currently enrolled in one of our preschool programs and live in a georaphical area we serve. Two of the programs are low income-based (Head Start and STEP) and one program is for children with minimal special needs. The plan to expand full day kindergarten in the county would be made by the School Board."
Wow, I didn't know Virginia law allowed school systems to do half-day kindergarten.
