My child tells me that in a previous year when we had too many snow days, Montco held school on Presidents' Day to make up for it, and he's sure that will happen this year. But I haven't heard anything about that. Are they having school on Presidents' Day? (I guess they couldn't refuse to excuse the absences of people who already planned get-aways for that weekend, if that's the case)
Your kid is hearing rumors about things that have never happened. MCPS has a snow contingency plan, and it will be implemented if necessary. Other districts have days subtracted from spring break, etc as their snow day plan, but MCPS adds days onto the end of the school year. No school on Presidents' Day (or Memorial Day, and spring break is the same).
