Time to sir the pot again. A friend of mine recently sent me the link below from Newsweek. It is their high school rankings. Outside of Madison and TJ, very few of the schools highly regarded on this board, i.e. Langley, McLean, Woodson, etc. are on the list. Meanwhile, Falls Church Hivh School, which is perceived to be a "poor school" by readers of these boards is. I wonder why? Is there domething wrong with the methodology kr is FCHS actuslly much better thsn is commonly thought? http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2013/05/06/america-s-best-high-schools.html
I wonder what happened, because when I look at the criteria, the stats, and the scores (I can find easily), schools like McLean and Langley do better than Madison- across the board (not significantly better, but still better). Madison is 146 on the list but McLean and Langley are not even on the list. It isn't FARMS kids as McLean has the same or slightly more than Madison as a %. It makes me wonder about the the accuracy of the list and what other schools across the country are also left off. Plus, I think you are confusing George Mason HS with Falls Church HS. Falls Church HS did not make the list either. Madison and Robinson are the only FCPS that are not a Gov. School that made it.
