DC is in sixth grade and has seven teachers. In elementary school, she had three teachers at the most and we would give each of them a Christmas gift. Nothing crazy - we spent around $25 each. I don't know what is expected in middle school. I suggested she pick three teachers to give a gift to but she did not want to single anyone out. What is reasonable in your opinion? She has a couple of teachers who are incredible and really go the extra mile and I would like to show our appreciation in some way. Are the only options no gifts or gifts for 7 people?
I usually write a long and meaningful note to each teacher and include a $10 starbucks gift card. I hate to only give to some teachers because it looks like brown nosing. For the teachers who goes the extra mile - make sure that in your note, you give specific examplex of why they are great teachers and also send a copy of your note to the principal so that it is included in the teacher's record. I think most teachers will appreciate that more than a gift.
