I would disagree with that. Most guys I know and some place in their age group are very humble. There is always someone stronger and faster out there. The hardest part is any race is getting to the starting line, you are really only competing against yourself. I find that runners are a very open and accepting goup.

Ahhhh!  So, they re looking at me that way then?  I got that vibe.  The men there were all outgoing, chatty and flirtatious.  I was taken aback...kind of surprised but it was a fun atmosphere.  I sure was sizing everyone up and feeling like an outlier.  I'll make sure to send my single friends next year or...enjoy the ego boost.[/quote]

The ones that do a lot of races often go by themselves, leaving the spouse and fam at home. Stay away from them.[/quote]
