Prep is a school owned and controlled by a Catholic religious order. The overwhelming majority of its alumni and students and faculty are Catholics, with Irish Catholics being the dominant group.

Your advice might be valid for the well to do non-Catholics, but, for the poor, Catholic schools are often the only option to failing public schools.  Prep is in an affluent area, but Catholic schools in poor areas are often well over 50% non-Catholic.  If you are poor and white or Asian don't expect schools like Sidwell, Holton, NCS, Maret or GDS to have any interest in you.[/quote]
